There are three types of cataclysms that we can observe in films:

•     Man-made disasters - here we are talking about the crash of planes, submarines, ships, about uncontrolled transport, about terrorist attacks and even about an attack on our planet by aliens.
•     Global natural disasters are large-scale incidents when all the inhabitants of our planet are under threat, for example: a meteorite fall or climate change on Earth.
•     Local natural disasters - concentrated in a specific area. For example, a volcanic eruption, flood, earthquake, avalanche, fire, storm, tsunami.

Certain disaster films have long been cult films and are loved by many audiences.
